Operation Iraqi Baseball
A couple nights ago, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow posed a question: How can we help get the Iraqi National Baseball team some gear? You see, they have three baseballs, one 5-year-old bat, one jersey and nine gloves — for the entire team. And, no one in Iraq sells baseball gear. The response from her audience was impressive. The team will soon have everything they need, including cleats and custom jerseys.... -

Paige, Satchel (Leroy Paige) săch"əl pāj, 1906–82, an American icon who was born in Mobile, Alabama. Satchel was celebrated for his wit and extraordinary pitching ability.
