The launch of "My Country: Smash Hits", benefitting the Fisher House Foundation, brings together people and companies representing many different political philosophies, age groups, ethnic and societal backgrounds in support of a common concern and appreciation for our military, both active and retired and their families. We are grateful to all those involved for their talent, their knowledge and the time they have given to complete the first volume of the Fisher House series of CDs.The songs are about life; love, hope for the future, loss, homecomings, God, pride of country and family and the ultimate military sacrifices; combat and death. Music is a strong communicator and this body of work speaks to the incredible debt and honor we all owe to our military. Fisher House does something to acknowledge that debt every minute of every day. It does not discriminate. It does not put value on one human being over another. Fisher House builds and maintains home-like facilities on military bases and near military hospitals providing meals and accommodations to military, both active and retired and their families while being treated medically or being rehabilitated.
